This six-piece vintage element sofa Amanta sofa from B&B Italia (the former C&B Italia) was designed by Mario Bellini from Italy in 1966 (mid-century modern). Beautiful seventies Italian design. This is a set consisting of no less than 6 seating elements. This large vintage family sofa from the 70’s consists of 6 separate elements that can be attached to each other. The sofa can be placed as a large long sofa. But is also very nice for a sitting area with 2 or 3 separate sofas. The vintage condition of this sofa is good, but the fabric needs to be replaced (probably not original). Signs of use appropriate to its age.
The sofa consists of a white fiberglass frame with lovely down cushions. A beautiful set for your large living room in a loft. But also great for a lobby in a hotel or sitting area for a restaurant.
About the designer
He collaborated with Olivetti and Cassina, resulting in an early knowledge of synthetic resins and polyurethanes. Bellini’s post-modern designs are innovative and technically complex. His work is original and has organic shapes.
Iconic designs are the Amanta Chair (1966) and Le Bambole Sofa (1972), both for B&B Italia. The 412 Cab Chair (1976) and Victoria Series (1982) for Cassina. The Bellini Chair (1998) for Heller, who won a Compasso d’Oro in 2001. Bellini has also designed for major international companies such as Artemide, Brionvega, Fiat, Flos, Pirelli, Renault, Rosenthal, Tecno, Vitra and Yamaha.
From the 1980s, Bellini devoted almost entirely to architecture.
