The couple Tobia and Afra Scarpa from Italy. Their work is chic, distinctive and cool. They have found a new generation of admirers in the 21st century. Their designs are modernist. Elegance and comfort are very important in their furniture. At the same time, the Scarpas are admired for the ease with which their designs fit into a classic as well as a modern interior.

Born in Venice in 1935, Tobia Scarpa is the son of renowned architect-designer Carlo Scarpa. His wife Afra was born in 1937 in Montebelluna.
They worked together for major Italian brands such as Flos, Cassina, B&B Italia, Knoll and Molteni. They used many types of materials and techniques for a wide variety of designs, from glass, furniture and lighting to interiors and architecture.

In the 1960s the couple began a relationship with the clothing company Benetton, which led to a number of different projects, including the first Benetton textile factory in Treviso (1964), and interiors for the Paris and Freiburg offices (1980) and New York office. (1986).

The work of the Italian couple Scarpa has been featured in numerous exhibitions from many museums around the world (Milan, New York, Chicago, Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Bordeaux) and galleries and has been awarded many awards.
Many articles in national and international magazines and essays have been published about them.
